At Aviela Parrots, we take immense pride in raising happy, healthy, and well-socialized parrots. Our birds are not just pets; they are family. We ensure that our parrots are raised with top-quality nutrition, proper sanitation, and significant socialization before they come to your home.

We guarantee that each parrot leaves Aviela Parrots in optimal health. Please read our Health Guarantee policy thoroughly.

1. Pre-Placement Health Standards

Before any parrot leaves Aviela Parrots, it is:

  • Visually Examined: Checked for signs of illness, stress, or injury.
  • Monitored: We observe eating habits, droppings, and overall behaviour to ensure a stable condition.
  • Captive-Bred: We assure you the bird was raised in a healthy, sanitary, and legal environment.

2. 72-Hour “Well Bird” Exam Guarantee

We strongly advise that you take your new bird to a qualified, licensed Avian Veterinarian within 72 hours (3 days) of taking possession.

  • If the veterinarian finds the bird to be clinically ill or to have a pre-existing condition, the bird may be returned to us for a full refund of the purchase price or replaced with a bird of equal value (upon return of the original bird).
  • Proof Required: You must provide a written report on the vet’s official letterhead stating the illness or condition.
  • Costs: Aviela Parrots is not responsible for any veterinary bills or shipping costs incurred by the buyer.

3. What This Health Guarantee Covers

  • Our guarantee covers infectious diseases or congenital defects that were present at the time of sale (e.g., viral infections, pathogenic bacteria, or serious congenital anomalies).

4. What This Health Guarantee Does NOT Cover

  • Neglect or Misuse: Injuries caused after delivery, improper diet, improper housing, or exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Stress-Related Illness: Parrots can experience stress following travel, new environments, and new diets. We cannot guarantee against issues arising from travel stress.
  • Infections after 72 Hours: Since bacteria and viruses can be contracted anywhere, we cannot assume responsibility after the 72-hour period has passed.
  • Exposure to Toxins: Exposure to cigarette smoke, teflon-coated pans, household cleaners, or other pets (cats/dogs).
  • Behavioral Issues: Screaming, biting, or plucking.

5. Quarantine Requirement

To keep our guarantee valid, the new parrot must be quarantined away from all other birds in your home for at least 30 days. If you introduce the new bird immediately to an existing flock, this health guarantee is null and void, as we cannot take responsibility for pathogens existing in your environment.

6. Mortality Policy

In the unlikely event that the bird passes away within 7 days, a necropsy must be performed by a licensed avian veterinarian at the buyer’s expense.

  • If the necropsy proves the death was due to a condition existing prior to leaving Aviela Parrots, we will replace the bird with one of the same kind of value from the next available clutch.

7. Buyer Agreement

By purchasing a bird from Aviela Parrots, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms. You agree to provide a safe, loving, and appropriate home for your new companion.
